Good Bye friends!!!

Good bye to Commodore Bibi

and to Captain Leven

Only the oldest will remember Bibi, Bertrand Suchet, flamboyant Commodore of the International Yacht Club of Pampelonne, which was the organizing club of the historic Nioulague in the 1980s-1990s, which has since become the Voiles de Saint-Tropez.

A meteoric rise for the young barman spotted in Saint-Tropez for his creative effervescence, who in a few years became a renowned advertiser, creator of the Louis XIV agency, before turning to more epicurean activities, notably quality catering or the search for a sunken galleon in Zanzibar...

He will remain for lovers of the Tropezian regattas as a fantastic organizer with an idea per minute and an overflowing humor. For the small organization team of the Nioulargue he breathed a fantastic positive energy, which was the soul of this event. He even contributed to the classic gauge sketches used at the time, labeling the expression "aller mesure le J" as the dodge allowing to go take a nap. He was so funny that we almost literally died of laughter several times, less funny is his premature departure...

Bon vent Bibi, famous Commodore and Commander of “Panica Generale”!

A farewell also to our friend Jean-Michel Leven, proud representative of the line of Eugénia V captains. Jean-Michel led his boat and his ship brilliantly for years, knowing how to keep a festive and generous spirit during the regattas and outside. With Anne his wife and his children, he had reconverted for a few years in the production of Breton flowers. One of his last wishes: no flowers or crown, but a donation to the SNSM…

Good bye Jean-Michel, valiant historical Captain of “Eugénia V”!
